Can you share a pivotal moment in your career that influenced your path in public sector consulting?
My career has spanned across public and commercial sectors, designing and building practical solutions that leverage technology to solve real-world problems. It is difficult to single out one moment, but what stood out to me after every well-executed public sector project was the added satisfaction of knowing that we were able to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of government agencies, save tax dollars and improve citizen services.
What drives your passion for working in government contracting?
What drives my passion is the direct impact we have on our nation’s most critical missions. Our work directly supports national security, public health and essential services that affect every American. Our solutions provide the foundation that enables government agencies to operate effectively and serve the public.
How do you approach leadership and team building?
My approach to leadership and team building is centered on empowerment, clear communication and cultivating a culture of ownership. I believe that a leader’s primary role is to create an environment where talented individuals can thrive, innovate, and solve complex problems through their skills and teamwork. I aim to lead by example by staying current on the technology landscape and creating a roadmap of relevant capabilities and solutions for the team.
What innovations or trends in the public sector excite you the most?
I am very excited to see how government agencies embrace AI to reimagine their day-to-day processes and workflows. There is tremendous potential in leveraging the full power of AI agents to take a more proactive approach towards predicting and mitigating risks, as well as providing a significantly superior level of citizen services, including self-service. It will also be a positive disruptor in the classic IT modernization space because new AI-driven solutions should accelerate such modernization projects. I am also interested in the evolution of cyber security solutions because AI is turning out to be a double-edged sword by helping the defenders as well as the attackers. It could become an AI vs. AI battle in cyberspace.
Can you discuss a project or initiative you’re particularly proud of?
I am proud of several large strategic technology initiatives I have led in my career, where very complex solutions had to be built from scratch and delivered on a very aggressive schedule. The most fulfilling element of these projects was embracing new technology to deliver significant additional value aligned to the customers’ mission. I have helped design and deliver complex ERP solutions for the public sector, as well as flagship solutions for financial institutions and other verticals. At RELI, I am looking forward to applying the experience of those projects and applying the lessons learned, to building new solutions for our customers, which can give us an edge in our future pursuits.
